South Africa Safari Day 5

We had hotel breakfast before a long journey to Zambia Border.

Approaching the river bank….

In front of us, the water way is border to 4 nations – Zambia, Nambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

We crossed over to Botswana using speed boat.

On one corner, container ferry servicing the waterway.

The Safari Jeep ferried us to the Chobe River Jetty.

Looking across the river…Yes… our first sighting of wild elephant. (2 of big 5)

More Hippo as they move ashore for sunbathing. Very friendly birdies quickly rest over them.

As the cruise boat move forward, thick dust came from behind the scrubs.

Our guide thought that the elephants will move off quite quickly…. and indeed he was right…  they strolled off shortly.

We were transferred to a smaller boat for disembarkation. Pathetic as compared to professional photo safaris.

We had buffet lunch at Chobezi.

It was very dry dusty road…

We hit high ground far away from the river bank. Everywhere is dry earth and dry tree except for one.

After the break, we headed towards the bank of Chobe River…close encounter with elephant.

The driver trial far behind the elephants…as they headed to river side for some cool enjoyment.

It was completely dark by the time we arrived at Zambia Hotel. Had BBQ dinner with African music…. plus a very tasty turtle dessert.

End of Day 5 : A day that we always remember – a day with  many first time encounter , a day that we felt as if living in the pages of National Geographic Magazine.
