12 May 2019 Sunday
Good Morning Malmo… it was Sunday Morning. Few people and few cars were on the quiet street.
A stone throw away from our hotel…this is Drottningtorget Flea Market
I really enjoy flea markets… I have strong association of flea market to local taste…varieties and new and old… maybe it is that feeling of “Life is like a box of Chocolate…you never know what you’re gonna get”.
We were back to Emporia as my wife had some shopping to do…
Lunch at Blue Corner…we had some Thai Chilli to spice up our taste bud.
and this MamiGreen Salad…. wow extremely tasty….
Exit Emporia… this is the building under construction we saw the day before… it is a little wavy with windows of different sizes…
Grazing around….look like Architects in Malmo have no liking for conventional squarely structure.
Back to Malmo Central Station – our objective for the day is to cover Malmo castle and the surrounding park.
Exit from the Central Station…like Copenhagen, this is another city of cyclist.
And this is a symbol of no violence…
and this naughty girl just do the opposite…
And a neighboring art piece…spectral self container.
I really do not know the true meaning behind the art piece… Just like what I have picked up from Lens Lye @ New Plymouth… art make you confused, angry… and the little different feeling it generated. This is interesting and make me wonder !!!!
Crossing the river in front of Malmo Central Station…
More designers construction… this building with wavy front is part of Malmo University.
Malmo University … those vertical stuff are difficult to maintain !
This is world Maritime University
This is Malmo Live…
and the extension…
Zoom in on the white Sculpture in front of Malmo Live.
Cool and relaxing….
Opposite bank of Malmo Live… quiet street.
More Malmo Architecture….
Far ahead, that is Malmo Turning Torso…
Strolling towards Malmo Castle…
Moat (Deep, broad ditch filled with water, that is dug and surrounds a castle) around Malmo castle.
Zoomed in on the Castle
Entrance Bridge
Looking over the bridge…
Entered the castle compound…
In front of the castle wall….
a stair that leads to nowhere
On entry, we realized the site housed a museum and the old castle.
Series of art pieces that caught my attention.
The museum shows a spread of exhibits…contemporary arts…
some fossil specimen…
and a lot of Animal Figurines
Naughty Girl running around the exhibit
The next series of exhibits attract more attention.
Near the entrance…. our conquer of Jaws from inside…
Very colorful aquarium.
Good varieties of fishes…
This is my favourite… look like cartoon character…
Non fishy species….
Remind me of Paul picking world cup winner…and interesting suction pad !
These are fascinating.
In the process of evolution from fish to reptiles… I guess this is one species that had forgotten to move forward.
Good varieties of reptiles…gigantic species
mini-size
and more….
Species that were associated with venom, poison and evil…
Evil looking creature…
While I do not have liking for snakes… I think there are something we can really learn from their lifting and sliding strength.
Varieties of frogs…
a sleepy one..
And two colored frogs…
And shrimp living on land…
Exit from the museum… we entered the castle area.
The exhibits are mainly Armour and weapons used in the good old days…
Some historical presentation on attacking the castle…
Cannon used to defense the castle…
Looking out of the castle window… we prefer modernisation.
Looking back at the castle… we really like the reflective view, same scene from different angle.
My picture with Malmo Castle.
We were in Slottsträdgården, the garden surrounding Malmo Castle. This is the most picture feature in the garden.
Our picture with the windmill.
Closing In…
The garden features varieties of vegetation
and vast green field … place to throw back, relax and have little picnic.
A little noisy quacking…
Relaxing along the scenic bank.
We had a break at the Garden cafe
It is cool air warm sun… everybody sit facing the sun.
Nice beer …
surrounded by cool vegetation.
Roaming on quiet street. Sunday evening … more blue and chill cold. It seemed a lot more quieter.
Mando seemed very popular among the local…
We had an outdoor seat … too cold to remove jacket.
Hot food tasted very good on a cold evening…
After dinner… it was struggle as we battle the cold wind to get back to our warm hotel.
End of day 2 : A day full of varieties…. flea market, shopping, architecture, sculpture, castle, museum, world of reptiles, windmill, garden. I always associate luxury with possibilities of experiencing and enjoying varieties in relaxing manner.
