13 May 2019 Monday
I woke up a little early, walked to Hertz Car Rental Office. It was easy processing and very quickly we were on the road. I decided to make a quick stop at Turning Torso.
Sandwiched between Turning Torso and the water front is some quiet and trendy neighborhood.
With relaxing and spacious park along the seaside.
The water front.
At one corner of the beach… this is called Titanic LoveLock Point.
Our Pictures at the Love Lock Point.
Looking ahead, that is Oresund Bridge.
We had another stop at Ribersborgs Kallbadhus. This is an open air public bath. Due to time constraint, we decided to have some cold dip the next time…
From Ribersborgs Kallbadhus, Turning Torso stands out among all the low buildings.
Oresund bridge appear so much nearer.
Leaving Ribersborgs Kallbadhus, it was a long drive to Simrishamn.
Windmill farm along the way.
And yellow Patch beyond…
Suddenly we were driving along Canola Field.
Beautiful Sea of Canola
A little stopover
Zoomed in and in and in….
Our pictures..
Two hours of driving and we were at very quiet coastal town of Simrishamn.
Cool Blue Reflections. Take a deep breathe with cold air running through the nostril… life is simply quiet and serene here.
From the coast, we headed along the main street of Simrishamn.
Our pictures on the cobblestone walk path…
The eateries along the street…..
Yes… we were starving. Pop into this cosy restaurant – Mans Byckare.
Our seafood Lunch… other than the salad cream which do not suit my taste… the salmon and fish and chip taste good.
After lunch…. we strolled around this picturesque little town.
These look ancient !
And this is even older… called this historic. It has been standing at this site for the last thousand years.
From Simrishamn, we made another stopover at Ystad Stonehenge (Ales Stenar). It started to rain when we arrived at the car park. My wife decided to continue with our explorations.
From the car park, it was some uphill climb…looking back after the climb.
the climb did not seem to end…
at last … that is the stonehenge.
Our pictures at the stonehenge.
and magical moment at the stonehenge…
We were completely wet when we were back to our car. The downpour was heavy and the drive to Helsingborg was a little difficult.
Fortunately, it was sunny and dry when we arrived at Helsinborg STF Miatorp Hostel and Hotel.
A chic corner outside the entrance…
After checking in, we explored the Hotel facilities. Superb dinning area.
Kitchenette is very well equipped.
And we thought the pictures look classic.
An absolute good choice to stay at this hotel.
It was dinner time… we decided to have some good stuff at Sillen & Makrillen. Arriving at southern coast of Helsingborg.
1900 hrs and the sun was still shinning brilliantly.
This is Sillen & Makrillen.
Opp !! may be we make a wrong choice…..Look relatively empty…
It was extremely packed indoor. We were fortunate to have the last available table by a round window.
A little wine before dinner.
And superb starter…
And our main course…. The name : Fantastic.
It was probably 2000 hrs when the place was tinted with brilliant orange color.
A last sip as we waited for sunset.
Fabulous spot to enjoy beautiful sunset.
Good coffee after all the good food.
After dinner, we strolled along the sandy shoreline.
Seabirds flock across the quiet sky.
Our pictures …
Looking back at the restaurant… quiet and brilliant.
It was pass 2100 hrs when the sun drift below the horizon. Gorgeous Radiance.
A quiet soul enjoying the last radiance of the day.
Looking back at Sillen….Amazing Restuarant with Spectacular view…. someday we will be back again…
End of Day 3 : We journeyed from modern architecture of Malmo to quiet, peaceful and picturesque coastal settlement of Simrishamn – very lovely country lifestyle. The hike to Ystad Ales Stenar ( the stonehenge of Southern Sweden), was a rare freezing experience – few opportunity for us to experience freezing cold wind and rain. After settling into the cosy neat hotel @ Helsinborg, we had a superb sunset dinner at Sillen & Makrillen – one of the best meal we have had in Europe. Travel is all about experience varieties and indeed it was day dotted with good Swedish varieties.
