11 May 2019 Saturday
Yes, it was Saturday….past midnight when we board our flight to Copenhagen. With a little wine to go with supper, I quickly dosed off.
It was probably morning Singapore time when I woke up… we were flying over some coastal area in Middle East. Look very impressive !
It was past noon Singapore time when the aircraft started its descend…
As the aircraft glided below the cloud…I took a snap of this windmill farm standing at the middle of wide ocean…. awesome constructions.
Then it is the famous Oresund bridge that linked Denmark to Sweden.
Hovering over Denmark…wondering what are those yellow patches !
Northern coast of Denmark
We touched down around 0630 hrs … clearance is a little difficult and it was well after 0800 hrs that we finally exit the airport. Look like the airport authority knew about the slow clearance….
At work place – I always say – do not spent time to apologize… use that time to do the necessities.
We took a train ride to Sweden. Traveling on Oresund bridge… while the bridge is an engineering marvel, there isn’t much to see while traveling on it !
Arriving at Malmo Central Station…. glassy architecture looked futuristic.
A slow walk to Raddison Blu Hotel
The hotel staff were very accommodating. They had us checked in very early.
Very spacious and clean room.
We had some good rest and revitalized. Looking out of the hotel…I always associate this kind of architecture to fairy tales of Hans Andersen era.
Very cool and relaxing walk to Malmo Central station. Lovely reflective river.
Inside the railway station…
Row of eateries in the railway station.
Look delicious !
On our way to Emporia.
Stepping out of railway station…. this is the amazing Emporia
An overview of building design…it consists of two curved structure (Yellow and blue corners) and within the building, it has zone with different color design.
The red zone…
The blue zone
The green zone…

We had lunch at Vipiano

Our orders….
enjoying the delicious meal.
With renewed energy, exploring the Blue Corner… which house a food court.
looking out of the blue corner…
We make our way to the rooftop …it look more like a stretch of grassland.
and the blue corner….
Look beyond…
The Oresund bridge from the Rooftop of Emporia
Another creative architecture is under construction beside Emporia.
We decided to make out way back to Lilla Torg for dinner. A short walk from Central Station …wide open area in front of the City Hall.
At one corner house this interesting Company – they invented the Fishbone diagram ?
This is Malmo City Hall
Zoom in on the fountain in front of the City Hall…
A lot of birds hopping around… care less about passer by…
Zoom in on birdies…
Our Pictures
and this is Lilla Torg…
Eateries… crowded, relaxing and enjoyable !
A little video clip of Lilla Torg.
We had dinner at this interest restaurant…
We were lucky to get an empty table…and were seated quite quickly…
noisy, crowded. and full house !
Soft and Superb Bread…
Our main course…
And nice little portion …delicious !
After Dinner… we strolled along the river bank… at 1900 hrs there was no sign of sunset !
So we thought it would be nice to observe sunset over Emporia.
Our Pictures At the Blue corner…
It was nearly 2100 hrs when the sun finally hit the horizon…
The Last Light …Dusk Over Emporia….
End of Nordic Spring Day 1 :
We were very thankful for being able to check in early at Raddison Blu…. After some rest, we were revitalized and had an enjoyable day at Emporia and Lilla Trog. Indeed very good meaty dinner at Bastard… what a name given to a good restaurant !
We brave through the cold breeze, over the cobblestone road… as we headed back to our warmth Raddison Blu.
