30 August 2013 Friday
After breakfast, the tour bus drove us to 12 Apostles. Unlike Australian 12 Apostles, this is a mountain range overlooking a small community by the beach.
The wave is in excess of 2m.
Our pictures at the 12 apostles.
A long drive to Simon Town and again it started to rain. It was fairly wet when we arrived at the ferry terminal….on full gear.
Very rough water as we approach seal island.
Zoomed in …
Seal enjoying freezing water.
After Seal Island…. the tour bus took us on a Coastal drive along False bay…at lookout point. I thought this is breathtaking.
Stopover for a sumptuous lunch
Early afternoon at Boulder Beach
Pictures with little creatures…
Lovely and homely Penguins…
zoom in at lazy bum.
Penguins expression
Sunbathing Penguin ?
And their flying cousins….
A little shopping outside Boulders Beach. This is the place we had the best bargain for an Ostrich egg.
Our next stop – Cape Point.
Await for funicular ride.
Look down from Funicular
Exit from Funicular, our destination – Lighthouse.
False Bay From Summit….
Beyond the lighthouse, the last piece of rock between two oceans.
and Cape of Good Hope…
Our pictures with Cape of Good Hope in the background
A short drive and we were on our last attraction of the day – Cape of Good Hope. A very rocky headland.
Out Guide said this is the place signifying faith and optimism. Our pictures at Cape of Good Hope.
It was nearly 1830 hrs when returned to Cape Town. Dinner at a Chinese Restaurant with fellow tour members.
End of Day 2 : A day of surprises… islands overcrowded with seal, very grand False bay, very sumptuous lunch, very large penguin colony (more than what I saw at Phillips Island)…. and end the day with abundant of good Hope.
