16 March 2017 Thursday
Leisurely we strolled from our Danshotel to Nyhavn, first crossing Frederiksholms Kanal 12. The canal mirrored.
By pass a number of important building…. Danish Parliament.
Christiansborg Palace
It was a long walk to Nyhavn. Really a colorful and reflective canal. Very peaceful and cool ambient.
The place was not packed. Restaurants were just starting their business…
Getting a little hungry, we sat down at Nyhavn 17 ordered our food…blanket ourselves while waiting for our breakfast….
While we lingered lazily after breakfast…. we heard the music of brass bands. The local told us the music came from Guard Change processing … we ran and follow the Marching Guards.
We watched the entire proceeding but unable to tell when the guard changed program ended. A long period of standing…. this was a very good rest point in the city center.
Mother and Daughter enjoy
Strolling around the shopping district in Copenhagen.
Explore Ilum Shopping Center. Aunty love shopping for Vege and fruits
while we shopped for Bread
These look delicious…
waiting for food…too hungry …. you can have that first.
After shopping at Ilum, we started our slow journey to little Mermaid. This is interesting – open spa by the harbour – known as Copenhot…. come in the form of floating small boat or bigger wooden block of bath tub. It will be an unique experience to enjoy the hot spa on cold winter night.
CopenHot is in front of Copenhagen Admiral Hotel.
It was a long walk along the coast. Statens Museum for Kunst. How nice if this was a patch of rose garden.
Kastellet was originally a fortress build in 1626. Today, it is a public park for the people living in Copenhagen. It is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
Locals came here for jogging and when sun descend near the horizon, the place look gorgeous.
After Kastellet, we arrived at the bank where the iconic Little Mermaid sat on rock by the Harbour.
Just when we were about to leave the little mermaid, a seaplane flew into the harbour. Unfortunately, not meant to pick us.
We took a cab to Torvehallerne Market.
There were good varieties of food stuff in the market. Everything look delicious.
We had some hot tea….
After tea, we joined fellow tour members at Olive Kitchen for good dinner.
After dinner, we had slow walk to Nyhavn.
Nyhavn .. sparkling beauty at night.
We had a very enjoyable day in Copenhagen. This city gave me a feel of new life, new generation, very healthy lifestyles mixed with many old historical site, colorful, peaceful and yet modern. A wonderful place with mixed varieties.
