16 December 2015 Wednesday
We made a great choice by booking Art and Business Hotel Nuremberg. The room is good. The lounge area is superb.
Piano time before breakfast.
Breakfast…
The food were fresh and were of exceptional quality. I love the thin slice of salami, went very well with the warm bread. My wife love the yogurt.
After breakfast, we started our Handwerkerhorf exploration. It was a little wet this morning.
I guess this was an old castle and it was converted to a handcraft center. There were cobblestone alley lined with very photogenic shops.
Every single shop is an art piece on its own.
The art pieces range from pewter, glasswares, toys and woodwork.
This old artist was trying to sell his wood craft.
Handwerkerhorf competition was on and the top ranking creations were on display.
This is my favorite piece.
The display, shop units, craft work in Handwerkerhof are truly beauty at its best. I called it is magical. If I make another trip to Nuremberg, I will schedule two full days to assimilate every art piece at Handwerkerhof.
Exit from Handwerkerhof, we roamed the nearby shopping street.
The modern sight of Nuremberg.
It was festive season, a lot of shoppers roamed the street…. there was light rain but no one seem to care.
Remember Barfuber beer and pork knuckle….fairly crowded in front of the restaurant.
There are a number of street kiosks. Very well decorated and the stuff on display looked superb. I had one of the best Bratwurst (sausage) from one of the Kiosk.
Looking into the shops…. Christmas Goodies everywhere.
It really give me the feeling of “Santa Claus is coming to town”
1330 hrs…. we hopped onto a cab and headed to the harbor. Cruise Embarkation time start at 1400 hrs. There were altogether 5 cruise ships lined along the coast.
The taxi driver struggled a little before we pointed to him on the correct cruise ship.
The Reception, Christmas Tree…. checking in.
After checked in, we were directed to our cabin – 218.
The small balcony outside our cabin.
After unpack our luggage, we went around the ship to examine the facilities. The lounge area… This is the place where the crew conduct briefing and travelers like us have snacks and drinks. The pianist always kept everyone accompanied with his light notes.
One level down, this is the dinning area.
At the back end of the ship, an area reserved for fine dining.
The upper deck
Jacuzzi and Thermal bath at Upper Deck
Back to the lounge, we were offered welcome champagne.
Then it is safety briefing and Crew introduction.
Evening time, we proceeded to the dinning area and had our delicious dinner.
End of Day 4…. We had good stay at Art and Business Hotel Nuremberg, spectacular sighting at Handwerkerhof and wonderful moment roaming around Nuremberg City. After days of heavy travel, this cruise offer truly relax and enjoyable moments. Looking forward to cruising Danube.
