12 October 2014 Tuesday.
Wanaka Hotel has a beautiful garden….
We drove to the town center in front of Lake Wanaka.
We spotted our tasty Subway at one corner of the main street.
After breakfast, we walked to Lake Wanaka.
On the Pavement…cartoon character????
Scenic Lake Wanaka
and the crystal clear water
The meaning of relaxation and enjoyment….
Our Pictures….
After checked out, we drove to Wanaka Puzzling world.
We had our tickets….
First…. hologram (NO STAR) she smile when view from the correct angle. I think this is what hologram can do….
The faces on the wall are physically concave… every picture we took …. the face look jutting out. This is amazing. (5 Stars)
The next two are simple stuff… but they did it so well………… 5 stars
A chance to step into infinity….
I was tricked and amazed by MC Escher’s Waterfall when I am very young. I recalled spending days trying to figure how water flow in the waterfall picture. Later, I learn to like MC Escher’s transformation type art creation. They have a lot of such works on display.
This is a 3D emulation of similar artwork…good attempt.
This is another amazing visual illusion…I recall a favorite question that I post and people usually shut up.
(Many years ago, I was inside a cab with taxi driver talking away about LKY and many things that should be done… I asked him “Uncle you are very good…. can you tell me why far thing look small and near thing look big”)
And the number one attraction in the puzzling world.
Everyone tilted.
We were tilted too.
sliding upwards by gravity…
Other displays.
some puzzles to bother about….
Our Pictures….with magic tap, crystal ball and face pillar.
Words of advice…..do not use puzzling world special toilet… do not seat on bench that used human leg.
Outside the puzzling world…
Caught a glimpse of another corner of Lake Wanaka.
We drove along the Crown Range Road (The highest main road in New Zealand)
A snap on how the climb from valley upwards…to the lookout.
The view was fantastic…
Three teenagers and The Crown Range. This is a classic starting scene of movie.
Our Pictures….
As we approached Arrowtown….the roads were lined with beautiful tall trees…. very green and very lovely.
This is like a Garden Village.
Zoooooom In on the new spring buds….the scent of early spring was in the air.
Driving on the main street…. peaceful and relaxing.
We parked our car at Ramshaw Lane and explore the little shops along the road. We had extremely tasty ice-cream from Patagonia Chocolate.
In front of Patagonia Chocolate is a little wood area and the Arrow River.
Arrowtown is a charming picturesque little Village. This is a perfect place for anyone who love relax, peaceful and beautiful postcard ambient.
Leaving Arrowtown, we headed to River Kawarau and Bungy Jump !!!
No…. our reverse Bungy Jump….
Pictured with the mountain behind the river. The mountain had been filmed in Lord of the Ring. There are many scenic view in the show… I cannot remember which scene was this shown up.
Lakes Hayes is short distance away from Bungy Jump site. With a little drizzle… this will be a perfectly reflections of Lover’s Concerto. It carries a scent of natural romance.
The neighboring Lakes Hayes Pavilion….venue for many wedding functions…
Our pictures by the lovely lake.
We stayed at The Loft Apartment. We had to cross one street to get to the waterfront.
The waterfront
The jetty is home to these beautiful creatures…. taking turns to take off…
This is Lake Wakatipu.
The Mountain Range beyond the Lake is remarkable. In fact …. the Mountain Range carries the name The Remarkables.
A little beyond the waterfront….
Kids and teenagers enjoyed themselves on these green patches….
We roamed the street…it is relax, casual and picturesque
Back to the lake side… statue of explorer
We strolled back to the waterfront and notice the wall poem.
This is the original text…It is definitely a very interesting way to present a poem.
Purple pink Sunset over the waterfront.
The place get more vibrant with diners….
We decided to had some grill stuff for dinner.
I love this baby back ribs…juicy and succulent….
Picture after satisfactory dinner.
After dinner…we strolled along the shore of Lake Wakatipu… beautiful melody echoed in the air.
End of Day 9 : A day full of enjoyable varieties…. going from relaxing Wanaka, mind freezing puzzling world, spectacular Crown Range lookout, Garden-like Arrowtown, reverse bungy jump, romantic Lakes Hayes and end the day at the very charming picturesque Queenstown, not missing out my delicious baby back ribs.
