22 July 2017 Saturday.
After checked out from Hotel, we drove to Glover Garden. Its was uphill walk with shops lined the street. We decided to come back to the shop later.
Just before Glover Garden Entrance is the Oura Church.
After the church, this flight of steps led us to Glover Garden Entrance….
The landscaping near the ticketing office is good.
Going on a series of escalator, we headed right to the top of Glover Garden – This is Former Mitsubishi Second Dock House in Glover Garden. (Rather complex naming)
Inside the building, there are fair amount of display on Japan industrialization – including steel manufacturing and ship building.
From the second level of the building, we have exceptional good view of Nagasaki Harbor.
In front of the building – Koi Pond.
Family enjoy feeding the fishes. Homely and relaxing sight.
Our Pictures…at the Second Dock House.
We enjoyed the beautifully constructed building while strolling downhill.
The landscaping was spectacular

The last building before exit…
There are rows of shops lined the street as we walked from Glover Garden to the main road.
and icy pudding on a very hot afternoon
We had lunch at ShiHaiRou. The dinning area occupied several levels of this building.
This is level 5. Crowded and we had to wait for 30 minutes. Chinese food and patronized by Japanese.
On the first mouthful of noodles, we understood why the restaurant can operate at this scale.
It was 30 minutes drive – short distance but heavy traffic to Nagasaki Peace park…
The Peace Statue
A lot of sculptures from various countries symbolizing peace.
while on the way to Hypocenter…saw the remain of wall …
The Hypocenter
and the reported death and damages…
It was no good feeling when we left the peace park. We decided to skip Unzen as the day temperature was well above 30 deg C. Our next Destination was Fukuoka Marino Outlet.
This is a much bigger shopping mall, but we do not have good bargain at the outlet stores. So, we sat back, relaxed and had coffee and Japanese Ice Kachang.
Brewing coffee @ Kurashiki
and our lovely Ice Kachang… mocha favoured…… very very shiok…..
Checked into Hakata Residence 2 and after wash up, we strolled along the riverside, heading towards Canal City.
By passing the roadside Food stalls in front of Para City.
Every stall was packed with locals… enjoying dinner, laughing away the hours and enjoy the company of one another. I thought it will be even more enjoyable on cold winter night.
At Canal City
Lovely design concept – with the canal flowing through the complex.
It was around 2000 hrs… and joined the locals to enjoy the projection and fountain show.
A video clip of this spectacular show.
After the show… we continued our shopping till they end their day operations (2200 hrs)
On our way to next Target – Level 5 Raumen Stadium.
after surveying various Raumen outlets… our selection
Our Ramen was Ready
The neck meat… my pick whenever available had never disappointed.
End of Day 9 : It was a nice visit to Glover Garden, an exceptional no good feeling at Nagasaki Peace Park. Enjoyable shopping at Canal City and the spectacular 3D projection Fountain show. Not forgetting my tasty Pork Neck Ramen.
